Oi! That's What I Call Music LP (1988)

This compilation had the huge merit of introducing me to the Crack with the truly irresistible "Don't Just Sit There".
As for the rest of the compilation there's some great, some good, some average and some poor tracks (and some crap!). Well I think I summed it up well!!!

03. The Glory - Scarred For Life
04. The Anti-Heroes - Six Pack Daze
05. The Betrayed - Don't Waste Space
06. The Blood - Bad News

Ramones - Pet Sematary 12"

Never posted any Ramones... so it's about time (especially considering the previous post... the Apocalypse Babys and their Ramones fixation! No single comment for this lot by the way... well...)!
They really did a great job with "Pet Sematary"... the movie itself was quite good if I remember well. But memory and beer don't mix that well...
The B Side is excellent too.
All in all you'll get a slow, a mid-tempo and a speed tune... all three bloody good... so no reason to complain!

A Side: Pet Sematary
B Side: All Screwed Up + Zero Zero UFO

Apocalypse Babys - Local Heroes EP

No easy task for a Punk band to start in the early 90's... by then the 80's Punk/Oi! revival/reforming hysteria/money grabbing flu had already started. The promoters and the labels paid obviously much more attention to the "legends" of the past. You were a shitty band in the glorious era of the UK 82 wave... you still were shitty in the 90's... well you just headlined any Punk gigs...
This is not a rip from the original EP here but it's taken from their CD "7" Plus"... as you've guessed it a collection of their EP's.
I think it shows the talent of this band well... put Ramones and GBH in a mixer and... enjoy!

The Sweet - The Ballroom Blitz

Throughout history men tried to seize, capture beauty and give it a "shape"... Praxiteles, Michelangelo, Bernini, Mozart, Beethoven, Cliff Richard... they all tried to give form to the ideal beauty... and the achievement of this quest was... THE SWEET with BALLROOM BLITZ... it all went downhill since......

The Specials - Gangsters 7"(1979)

The first single I bought (well let's forget about the Kiss stuff OK?).... loved it back then... still love it... one of the most scratchy records I'll post but considering it's 30 years old I think it sounds quite OK... and anyway who cares about the clicks, pops, scratches... it's FAB!

Criminal Class - Fighting The System 7"(1982)

Another Oiriented post. Criminal Class along with the Last Resort had this very distinctive and characteristic Oi/Skinhead sound... slow tempo, no embellishment really...

The Last Resort - Skinhead "Pain Of Living"

Russ left a comment informing us that the Warriors had just released a new CD. So check out their website THE WARRIORS and their myspace page as there's a few trax from their new album to be discovered. Sounds really good.
Thought I would post this bootleg (can't remember exactly why I bought it... no rarity on it... well I probably thought it got alternate versions or something....) featuring "Eight Pounds A Week" a song that is covered on their new release. Anyway you'll find a complete story of the band on their website.
