Oi! Oi! Oi!
In view of the frankly funny stuff kicking off in the comments section. I'd like to point you in the direction of Uncle Garry Bushell. No! Stay with me! Say what you like about the man, he's undoubtedly a very intelligent bloke and he can on times be a bloody good writer. He also, strangely enough, comes out of the Crass biography seeming like quite a genuine guy. "Bushell on the box" well none of us are perfect. I spent a lot of time as a "yoof" reading his stuff and he did champion Conflict at one point. If your interested at all in how Oi! kicked off give it a read. It does put a few things, I think, into perspective.
Oi! – The Truth by Garry Bushell

Seriously though, been asked a few times to post All Skrewed Up and frankly been somewhat tempted as it is indeed a superb punkrock record and I'd even go as far and say its one of the best albums of 1977 (if not the best). Guess the attack-wanker-squad would not like that very much though. Ha ha ha.
Yeah, agree that Gary B comes out quite alright in Crass bio...
Have never liked Bushell but I do like my music history. As you say he sets a few things straight which can only be a good thing given some of the recent 'comments'.
Always had a problem with Oi, as some of it was fucking great, Cock Sparrer's Shock Troops is a classic L.P, but the politics of Oi....erm!!, but then with the onset of age and the revisionist writtings of the 80's You realise that Steve Ignorant was a 'lad' all along, the Hambrough Tavern riot was manipulated by the media and The Business went to meet Crass for a cup of tea. We also need to remember that there is a difference between Patriotism and Nationalism.

The Cock sparrer "The Sun Says" (included on the 1984 album "Running Riot in 84") wasnt about Bushell. The song was written before Bushell joined the Sun in 1985.
If youre gonna be abusive...get your facts right.
Daz
Highlander & Nuzz,
The tag-team! I know they say never give them a platform. But hey why not? The jokes write themselves. If you've ever seen the film "bugs life" there's a fat caterpillar with this high pitched eastern european accent.....
I loved a lot of the Oi! bands hearing a lot on Peel back then (no one commented on pic bah!) the first 3 oi! comps were great. We were kids for fucks sake. Even Steve Ignorant liked the Cockney Rejects.
I think Bushell (god help me) tells it like it was. Nuzz, "Shock Troops" is a classic LP though aint it.
Being a Taff the whole Patriot, Nationalist thing is a bit of mangled mess (though I get your point). That whole reclaiming the Flag thing the Upstarts got into can get easily confused. They crucified Morrisey for fucks sake. Class doesn't help obviously.
Daz,
Not "THE" Daz that started this I spose? Thanks for the call for more accurate abuse. Accurate abuse is always welcome. Wanker I have no problem with. But as you clearly point out, Bushell didn't join the Sun til 85. Now if anonymous had quoted "Plastic Gangster" by the 4-Skins we might have been onto something.....
Slobo,
I think the attack-wanker-squad & those at the opposite end would both be on your case. tesco at blank forever (formerly 100 records) did a similar thing and got untold shit. He's promised to again on his new site. Some people enjoy the shit, I spose. You started getting a bit cryptic at christmas time if I remember. Too Much Confusion. Leave it mate. It would'nt be worth the hassle. Your comments are always appreciated. I have also started saying urghh! in conversation. For which I blame you.
Ugh! Too right. Ha ha ha.
Yeah, was listening to that record over xmas for first time in like 10-15 years...was almost beginning to wondering though, why noone bothered to comment on half-disguised cryptics!
Hey, the Sacrilege demos up now courteously Curious Guy, if you are innnarestin'.
Oi? In Swedish we say "Oj!" (= Eng. "oops")

lol - highlander & nuzz, we'll be on WWE before you know it. Seriously tho, not gonna get on anyones case for record posting if its the music its posted for. I think the politically edged blogs are easily picked out from the music dedicated ones. "The jokes write themselves" - I like that John.
Made me chuckle too. Me thinks there's some really good blogs going on at the moment, a good mix of the political and the musical.
And twas' so, that from that day, hearing these proclimations from Mr Wolf. It was hence forth known as THEE Golden Age of blogs.
