Filler : First Out / Touched
Ok. Change of pace. Someone might know something about this. Most record collectors have a few lumps of plastic in their collections they know little about. Here's another one of mine. Now if Amebix had ever decided to become a Hawkwind cover band I kinda think they may have ended up sounding like this lot. Filler from, who knows? 1991, recorded in Derbyshire, though the record label is based in Herene Bay, Dirter Promotions & still has an active web site. No mention of the band though, just some current releases by Faust & Jackie O Motherfucker among others. Probably picked this up when I had an account with Southern. Sonic.

No Aims No Desires 7'' (1989), MYHC 12'' (1990) & Malaise 12'' (1991) all on Pigboy Records. Think it's the same Filler, couldn't tell you anything else about them though!
Thanks anonymous,
Label mates of the mighty Fudge Tunnel, That would make sense. Thanks for your input. :)
I sort of remember this band, or at least the name, from back in the day when I was a fanzine idiot...but I really don't know...will ask my friend about it...he'll know I am sure...
"If Amebix decided to become a Hawkwind coverband"
HA HA HA ! THAT WAS GREAT!
But seriously though, as fucking love both bands so...well hmmmmm.
Thanks for this,
i love filler. as well as the records already mentioned they also had a split 7" with spongetunnel and myhc was released on 7" originally as well. i don't know too much about them apart from they were from nottingham and the singer/bassist did wetspots records.
i don't think they released anything else, at least nothing i've ever been able to find out about...
thank you for this Mr. Enzk. now over to you to start your own blog to post up the complete Filler discog.
That would be nice!
The singer of Filler was Dave Skeen who now lives in Bristol. (A bunch of us ex-punk band members all worked for the same community recycling scheme about 10 years ago including Dave, as well as people from Chaos UK, General Belgrano/Bad Noise, and Atrox.)
Filler may well appear in Ian Glasper's 3rd UK 80s punk scene volume which I think is due out next year and will focus on the emergenece of the hardcore and post-hardcore bands from 84-ish onwards.
