Nice piece from Sounds, a now defunkt music weekly. Complete hatchet job by the Journo, who obviously now considers himself well above this sort of thing. Entertaining. Who would of thought they would have had a complete genre based around them. Read on!

But NOISE is music! Damn journos don't know a damn thing. Shitty thing that I had to become one myself. Argh.
It is however interesting in a sort of historiographical point of view that D-beat is of course a post-facto invention.
Which is even more hilarious when people see the current lineup of Discharge and comment that the drummer don't even play d-beat style drums!!!
Loved the first 3 eps. The abysmal 'Why' 12" (apart from feeble bastard) put me off and then it was the descent in to heavy metaldom and total embarassment.
